Who is LJ Woodard Performance Club Director?

LJ Woodard is the Director/Owner/Creator of the Performance Club!  She is an active member of the Wrightsville
Beach PTA and a professional Actor (SAG)...who has taken all her valuable lessons in improvisation, theater, voice, comedy, scene study and movement from New York to Los Angeles into a unique after school program where students can "play" and learn how to perform at the same time!  Encouraged by friends, family, Wrightsville Beach PTA and Principal (Pansy Rumley)...she introduced Performance Club at Wrightsville Beach Elementary School in 2006.  "It has been rewarding to see any young performer shine...not only do they surprise their parents with their confidence but they surprise themselves!"  The first show was a Motown song at the first PTA Meeting, then "The Thriller" at WBS Fall Festival (which is a yearly tradition) then the Oscar Tribute Shows and short films!  And even more exciting...the opening of our own young actor's studio at 6624 Gordon Road - a wonderful theater space with stage, curtain and lights!  Performance Club is growing fast!  Where classes are available from Beginners to Professionals

acting school, performance club, kids, wilmington theaterSince then, LJ Woodard has taught Performance Club at Noble Middle School, St. Marks Catholic School,  Wrightsville Beach Parks Recreation and at the Music School of Wilmington.  She has privately coached young actors for television and film and has recently produced a short film entitled, "Where's Wilmywood",starring performance club kids!  This project was selected to be featured at
the Cucalorus Film Festival 2008!  Just recently submitted, "Oh the Places You'll Go!" for Cucualorus Film Festival 2009!  Coming soon..."Wilmywood Bound" for Cucalorus 2010!

Her experience includes independent films, television, voice-overs, over a dozen commercials, stand-up comedy and corporate "live spokesperson" presentations across the country in the automotive, high-tech and medical industries.  She has also appeared locally in productions at City Stage/Level 5 and CW's "One Tree Hill".  She is also a wife and mother of two children (ages 10 and 5), who are the true inspirations behind Performance Club. They made Wilmington their home in 2004 so they could still live near the beach while continuing to pursue work in film, television and theater...and it's been a perfect match ever since!  See
